Front speakers distorted by bass
Submitted by: Adam Wartell
When I turned my radio up loud enough that I could hear it while cruising down the highway with the tops off, my front speakers would get totally distorted from too much bass being sent to the small 4x6s. While the rear speakers can handle the bass just fine.

So while turning down the bass, helps the front speakers, it takes the bass away from the rear speakers too. So what to do?!?

Well, I thought I was going to have to replace the front speakers with something that could handle the bass. So I called Crutchfield to ask about some speakers and I also told him the problem I was having. The guy recommended that I first try putting "bass blockers" on the front speakers. They are only 10 bucks, so I figured I’‘d give it a shot. So I placed the order.

Amazingly, they were at my house the next day!! I installed them (took me 10 minutes), and he was right! It stopped the distortion and I can still get good bass out of the rear speakers.
If you are having the same problem, I recommend you give this solution a try!
