Spindle removal
Submitted by: woody1
I learned the hard way, DO NOT USE A SPINDLE PRESS to remove your spindles. I went through the whole process of removing the spindles, replacing the wheel bearings, and reassembling both sides only to discover that the press had caused both caliper brackets to bend so far that the calipers rubbed against the rotors and the brackets had to be replaced. I had to tear apart both sides again to replace them. Next time I replace my wheel bearings I will use a spindle knocker.
