That 78 looks real nice.  Go check it out.  At least you can drive a vette for the first time and see what you think.

Boy am I getting old. Had to look up what IMHO was :)

Well, not sure if I am going to be able to. We leave Friday and have to pick up our new washer tonight... stupid grill and washer died at the same time. Then tomorrow is my son's T-ball and well Thursday we are packing. It is up there for 15 days. Not sure if I would be lucky enough for it to be there when I get back.

I don't know. I will talk to my husband. Maybe I can sneak down there tomorrow night.

I think this one looks pretty good, even if it does need paint. Nickey is a well respected dealer from waaaay back. They will prolly treat ya right if you want to haggle with them on it.

I used to have a '69 Nickey Nova....500+hp 427/4spd....that car was set up by the pros at Nickey Chevy...barely street legal, and ran mid 11s. They were some of the competition for the Baldwin/Motion cars, and Yenko Chevy.

Hi Everyone,

I am back from Canada and very happy to be.

I need everyone's opinion. I found this car on Craigslist and it is about 2 hours away. I called yesterday when we were passing the town on our way home but he wasn't there then. The paint job is unbelievable.

I was reading my Corvette books finally and realized I can't be as picky as I was being. I didn't realize like in 1975, they only made 1,057 4 speeds and that they didn't make any in 1982. So I more now worried about if it is a manual or not than anything. But I still think, no red, at least for now.

So please let me know what you think of this car. I am going to try and call him and see if I can get more info on it.

Looks nice from the pics. One thing I would caution on tho....when you buy a "custom" Corvette, you need to be absolutely certain you will be happy with the modifications. Sometimes, they look kewl for a while, then it may start to annoy you. Ya just never know. A lot depends on the quality of the paint/mods, too. Will it stand up to time/weather?
I'm not a big fan of window etching, either....pretty much makes the glass useless if you decide to change the paint on the car at a later date.
Price-wise, if the car is solid, and drives well, is about right for a mild custom, again, IF the mods are done right.
I'd say go take a look at it, and see how it "feels" to ya. The right car will "talk" to ya.
Ask plenty of questions about the car, and the mods...don't be shy. If the seller doesn't know the answers....run.

I just got done talking to the owner and my hopes are shot down some. It has no power steering which from what I hear is a big deal, no ac, the inside needs a little work, he replaced the carpet but the seats are not original and there is no seat belts at this time. He was waiting to put in custom racing seats. He had a 350 put in but made it that it wasn't horrible on gas mileage. It have 4 side pipes that are legal if you have collector plates on it. He has parts like crazy but I don't know how to do any of that stuff. He is going to call me back with the original mileage on it. It does have tilt steering - whoopee.

I think there is way too much that needs to be done to this car for me. For one, the seat belts, I would have no clue how to do that. Oh well, I guess the search goes on.
