Ok this is not too far from my house but it have 104,000 on it but it's orange! Is it worth looking at?

 
Nevermind, I looked at it again and saw it has been mod. Oh well.

There's two yellow '74's and a yellow '76 on Ebay right now. All three are standard trans, and should go below your budget. One '74 is in Ohio, the other in Idaho, and the '76 is in Arizona.

You probably know this already, but on Ebay you can select only C3's and then it will give you the option to narrow the search, and you can do so by searching for only manual transmission cars. Right now there are 104 available. Of course a lot of them are out of your price range but there are quite a few that are around it.    

It's been interesting to read your search progress. Good luck in finding your baby!
