I liked it, an thought it would be a nice sunny day cruiser rare or not for the money. It looks to be pretty unmolested which is a big plus. If it would turn out to be rare kiss the price away especially if the NCRS guy verifies it.

I think the reason for the 15k opening bid was because the car "sold" on ebay a few weeks back for $18,800. The high bidder never contacted the seller and wouldn't answer his emails. This is just my personal opinion but I think the seller had the opening bid at what he would take for the car, since it was a no reserve auction.

I agree with Jim. It is common practice and common sense, in a
no reserve auction, to start the bidding with a value you will accept.

Well Scott our theory was just shot down. I just offered him 15k but he says he can't sell it for that. He's emailing me more pics, trim tag info and a copy of the window sticker tomorrow.

Here's the copy of the window sticker he sent me. I've never actually seen a reproduction of a window sticker. Is there any thing here that would indicate that it's a reproduction? Anyways, he now has an offer of 17k and he wants $500 for the original rally wheels. If you offered him 17.5, by the time you added the wheels and shipping you would have close to 19k and thats probably leaves no profit margin if you wanted to resell it.

Interesting that it has rear window defogger on a convertible. I don't
recall seeing that before. It certainly looks authentic but I don't no
how you would tell if it is real.
