Just bought a '71 454 T-Top (assembly date code F05)and need the following parts with correct casting code/dates:
Intake Manifold
Exhaust Manifolds
Alternator
Distributor
Coil
Rochester QJet Carb
There might be more that I need as I look over the car, but that's it for now. Not sure what the correct dates would be for my assembly date code of F05 (Jan 5th '71), but maybe within 4 weeks prior?
Thanks,
Steve

Steve.
Congrats on landing the Big Shark.
4-speed or automatic? Makes a difference on some of the parts you are hunting.
What other goodies does she have?

Oh yeah. Duh. It's a 4 speed. Warbonnet Yellow with black deluxe leather, ps, pb, pw and tilt/tele. I think it's got the rear defogger as well if the vents are in interior of the shark fins.
Did '71 LS-5's come with a smog pump? If so, I need one of those as well I guess.

That Q-Jet goes with the 365hp 2-bolt block, not the 425hp 4-bolt. Block casting # (3963512) is the same. Is yours a 2-bolt or 4-bolt?
Gotta drop the pan to find out for sure.
365 horse w/Q-Jet carries #3993820 heads and #3955287 cast iron intake.
425hp originally carried #3946074 heads and a Holley model 4150 (#3986195) perched on top of aluminum intake #3963569.
Which one are we working with here?
John

I believe all the big blocks came with a smog pump. Unless you're doing a complete restoration, I wouldn't worry about it. If you need one, most of the resto companies carry the parts you need, but they are pricey.

Actually, my Richard Prince book says the '71 BB's didn't come with a smog pump.
Mine's the LS5 365HP. Don't know if it's 2 bolt or 4. Probably 2 bolt.
