Hey Dan, The status of the 81 is looking pretty good. I think the fuel problem has been solved. Will see when the trip mileage gets above 120 miles. I replaced the fuel pump bought some original rims off E-Bay. Replace the front nose piece took the hood off and spruce up the under side. This weekend I plan on replacing the valve cover gaskets to clean up the engine. I am in the process of buying the exhaust system and the only thing left is the mufflers which will be had next month. Last weekend I started to replace the weather stripping on the T-tops. The driver side went good the passenger side not so good. I need to replace the chrome piece hard to fine. The red carpet on the inside looks good now thanks to Mid-America Red spray paint. With only 45000 on the tranny and engine its solid. I Replace the motor mounts and front wheel bearings. I am planning to replace the oil pan gasket and power steering valve. The only bad thing is its taking money from the 70.

Dan, the carpet was not dirty nor worn just faded from the sun. The seats look brand new. Mostly the back area was faded so I sprayed it and have to say it looks good. The parts I need for the 70 is mostly interior. The 70 is with the body man getting a new front end on it. Right now I am getting the interior parts together. Because someday before I am dead I will get to drive it. So far I have had it for three years and have not really driven it.
