Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79

A Defining Moment in Corvette History

When Chevrolet unveiled the 1984 Corvette, it wasn’t just a redesign — it was a revolution. After skipping public release of the 1983 model year, the C4 generation burst onto the scene with cutting-edge engineering, digital instrumentation, and sleek aerodynamics that reimagined America’s sports car for a new era.

And now, the very first production-numbered Corvette of that generation — VIN #000001 (1G1AY078XE5100001) — is up for auction. Online bids are being accepted now, and in-person bidding starts Saturday, November 8th, 2025 at 10am Eastern. (See link below)

🔍 Why This Corvette Matters

This isn’t just a low-mileage survivor. It’s the first-numbered C4 Corvette ever built — the car that marked the official beginning of a new chapter in Corvette history. It’s a symbol of rebirth, innovation, and the enduring legacy of the brand.

📜 Provenance & Documentation

This car’s pedigree is unmatched:

  • Original build sheet and window sticker
  • Complete factory paperwork and provenance records
  • Hundreds of authentication documents and photos
  • Verified 277 original miles
  • Detailed ownership and storage history

Its life has been meticulously documented, making it one of the most historically complete C4 Corvettes known to exist.

🧼 Condition & Presentation

With just 277 miles, this Corvette remains factory-original in paint, interior, and mechanical components — a time capsule from Bowling Green’s 1983 production line. Recently featured on the WD Detailing YouTube Channel, it gained national attention for its pristine condition and incredible authenticity.

🏆 Historical Significance

  • VIN #000001 — the first-numbered 1984 Corvette
  • Build Date: February 1983 (see build sticker) - makes this, by far, the earliest built C4 to be considered a production model.
  • Launch of the C4 generation, a total redesign
  • Factory-original condition with near-zero mileage
  • Media-featured and authenticated — recognized worldwide

This car isn’t just collectible — it’s iconic.

💰 Investment Opportunity

Corvettes with VIN #000001 status rarely surface for public sale. Fewer still offer this level of documentation, preservation, and exposure. This is a collector-grade opportunity ideal for:

  • Museums
  • Private collections
  • Investors seeking a historically verified, first-numbered production vehicle

🔗 Final Thoughts

This Corvette represents more than just a car — it’s the moment Corvette evolved. Whether you’re a collector, historian, or enthusiast, VIN #000001 is a chance to own the very beginning of a legacy.
