P/S Pump Mounting Bracket?

I recently purchased a 78 Vette with a 406 Engine. The previous owner tossed out the P/S Pump and mounting bracket but luckly he left the control valve and cylinder in place.

Are the P/S Pump and bracket unique to a 350 Vette or will they fit the 406? If they are the same can someone cross reference other GM models and years for the Pump and bracket which will work so I can go to a "Junk Yard" instead of having to order through expensive aftermarket Vette suppliers.

If you mean a 400 engine, yes it will fit perfectly. The small block engines are mostly interchangeable. Some of the older ones don't have some of the bolt holes the not as old ones have. Has the engine been bored out to 406?

Thanks for the info. Yes it is a 400 CI bored out to 406 CI's. The date code on the block is 1974 so would this be considered "an older one" as you mentioned.

I know that if I find a pump at a "Junk Yard" I'll probably need to replace it but I'll use it to cover the core charge. Do you know if the 400 pully the same dia. and shaft size as the 350 so I can use it?
