When I needed a new EGR for the '78 L82 I owned, I bought one from Pep Boys. If I remember, it took them a day or so to get one in for me.
If you want a genuine GM part, go to a Chevy dealer and have them check their computer system that all dealers nationwide are connected, and they can give you a printout of what, if any dealers, have the part in stock gathering dust. If someone does, you can contact them for it. GM parts numbers may have changed since your car was built so the parts guy may have to find a conversion for it.
Also on the '78 I had, the a/c idle compensator solenoid for the carburetor was bad. My local dealer gave me a printout of all dealers nationwide that had one since it was a long discontinued item. I called one dealer and that parts manager said he had two collecting dust...they retailed for $89 each but if I took both he'd sell them to me for $20 each so he could clear his shelf of such old merchandise. SOLD! I installed one on the car and sold the other on Ebay for more than both cost me.

I purchased a valve from CC. The hose port is not in the same position and angled up.
I'll be returning it since it just doesn't fit right.
I will check with a Chevy dealer next week.

Took 2Tone82's suggestion and purchased, but with a different P/N. The unit is made by Delphi.
Thanks
for all the advise

No one had the original style 5/16" x 18 x 1 1/4" mounting bolts, so I purchased a couple of ARP black anodized that are close in style on-line.

Many aftermarket suppliers have them, or similar, but they are not calibrated to your car. You go by the original part number from the old EGR valve and install a numbered orifice to correct the calibration. They work very well. This allows one part number to correctly replace perhaps a dozen numbers.

Good information !
Are the numbers on the numbered orifice found on the original valve??
I purchased a valve & gasket looking like the original valve, but the numbers are not the same.
