1992 Corvette Convertible – Bright Aqua Metallic – Rare Example
I am exploring the possibility of selling my 1992 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, finished in Bright Aqua Metallic. This is a very rare car, one of only 27 produced in this color/configuration for 1992, with written correspondence from the National Corvette Museum confirming this.
The car is in exceptional condition for its age. There is no corrosion or pitting anywhere, including the aluminum components under the hood. It has been hand-washed its entire life and has never been driven in rain.
This Corvette was previously owned by my uncle for approximately 7–8 years prior to me acquiring it and has always been maintained and treated as an enthusiast-owned vehicle. Photos do not fully capture the quality or presence of this car.
I am selectively entertaining offers from knowledgeable Corvette enthusiasts who will genuinely appreciate, enjoy, and continue to care for this car properly. I am not in a rush and am happy to answer questions or provide additional information to serious, well-qualified Vette people.
Serious reasonable inquiries only, please.
More pictures are available upon request along with additional information.

Beautiful car...!!! I have seen several Bright Aqua Metallic C4s over the years with the white interior but not the light beige like yours due to its rarity. The exterior color is stunning imho!
I am a little confused tho' by a couple of statements related to the ownership of the car and its care. If your uncle was not the original owner did he know, or have contact, with the previous owner(s)? If not, how can the statements about the car's care ("hand-washed its entire life") and use ("never been driven in rain") be substantiated? I'm sure your uncle and yourself treasured the car. Apologies if I'm being picky but potential buyers ("knowledgeable Corvette enthusiasts") might ask that about the car.
Be ready to answer any questions related to the Opti-Spark and/or the water pump. That was a design snafu, again imho, of the LT1 engine, especially the early ones.

I wish I could ask my uncle directly, but unfortunately I can’t anymore. What I do know is that he had a long-standing relationship with a Chevrolet dealer, and that dealer located the car and had it shipped to the area so my uncle could purchase it. While he was not the original owner, he was extremely particular about the cars he bought and how they were kept.
I want to be clear and transparent about the care statements. The “hand-washed only” and “never driven in the rain” comments are based on observable condition and professional opinions, not speculation. The car has been inspected by two well-known Corvette specialists local to me, and both independently commented on the exceptional condition of the engine compartment and no woter spots in the nose by the headlights. . There is no corrosion or oxidation present, including on the aluminum A-arms, Aluminum brackets, Alternator, and valve covers which show no pitting at all. Based on their experience, both stated that this level of preservation is consistent with a car that has not been exposed to rain or harsh conditions.
As for the Opti-Spark and water pump, both are original and completely dry, with no signs of leakage or moisture intrusion. The car starts, runs, and drives exactly as it should, and even the air conditioning ( electronic climate control) works perfectly. Nothing has been altered or “freshened up” to mask issues.
I fully understand that knowledgeable Corvette enthusiasts will want specific photos, and I’m happy to provide any requested images. The photos already posted tell a lot, but they truly don’t capture how well-preserved the car is in person.
I’ll also be upfront and say I’m not a Corvette expert. Because of that, I genuinely believe this car should go to someone who knows these cars well and can fully appreciate how rare and special this particular example is. I’m simply relaying everything I know and everything that has been professionally observed.
