I have another questions for everyone my 68 vert's trim tab says chevrolet B21 trim 402 paint 983.Can we tell anything from that little bit of info?

I don't know the meaning of B21, but the other codes...
trim 402 = black leather interior
983 color = Brtish Green exterior

the B21 is the build date I think? Second Month of Production 21st day? Someone else will know for sure but I'd guess Sept 21 or Oct 21 1967.
If its Sept 21 it was born one day and many years before I was!

There is virtually nothing stamped on the trim tag or vin plate that will tell you which engine came in the car. Some detective work mentioned earlier will help, but will not guarantee, all of those parts are easily replaced or added.
