Purchased in the fall of 2006 with just
7,500 miles on the odometer (we're the 2nd owners). Now has 37,000 as
we've enjoyed several great road trips in the car. Yes - it has
gotten wet and dirty.
Exterior: Bright Red
Interior: Bright Red
Glass removable top
Integrated radar detector installed in December of 1989
Since becoming the current caretaker:
- replaced the original tires with Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (GREAT tires) - have the originals bagged and go with the car if wanted
- replaced all 16 fuel injectors in May of 2007 (#1 failed so replaced them all while I had it apart)
- replaced all fluids on a regular basis. Oil is changed every 4,000 miles with Mobil-1
- added neoprene seat covers to protect the original red leather
- added acrylic mudflaps to protect lower body panels
- front Bilstein FX3 shocks rebuilt by Delta Vee Motorsports in Kalamazoo, MI
Known issues:
- Bose sound system doesn't work (now there's a surprise). Didn't work when we bought it and haven't felt the need to get it fixed.
- left front impact sensor is throwing a code which has lit the SRS light on the command center
- automatic climate control is a little goofy - the climate control module may need to be replaced
All manuals I have stay with the car. Don't have the "pizza box" but have the leather pouch with the books and the video tape as well as the original window stickers. Also included are two car covers and a locking gas cap.
As of 2/1/2016 NADA Guide Classic Car Price website
Low Retail: $16,935

I also have a '90 ZR-1 with 19,600 miles on it. Just wondering, I know the engine comes painted, but any ideas what to use to keep it bright ans clean/shiny as possible. Mine looks good by I'm cautious as I don't want to stain or darken the engine. Yours looks great, mind sharing what you use?
God Bless, rick

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

Sorry to hear it Jim. I remember driving in eastern Indiana one day with my wife in her Kia and seeing The Beast come up on and then pass us when I realized it was you, then stopping to chat with you and your wife at a gas station up ahead.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
