I might have what you need. If your's is chrome it's not an original 78 power antenna but possibly a GM "service replacement". I'll go out and find it and post a pic.

This is what I have. This will fit factory 79-82 power antennas or the GM "service replacement" for those years. I'm simply assuming that you have the replacement. The "correct" bezel is still available from some of the vendors. Check out Ecklers pt. no. A9931. Yours if it will work and you want it.

go the items in the mail friday - they fit perfectly.
now as Paul Harvey said "the rest of the story".
while looking for the part the antenna
was raised - without the top fitting - and the mechanism got all screwed up so i had to remove the whole antenna ( this means lowering my new welded exhaust as mush as possible to onfasten the antenna connectors and remove the antenna) to repair it not a job if you are not mechanically inclined. anyway got the antenna to work on the bench - go the replace the antenna (that darn fool who was so meticulous in the restoration (i plead the fifth here)  used quick disconnects for the power wires to the antenna (good idea) the were made to fit without and thought of needing to ever get to it for replacement. now these wires are behind the antenna and with the gas tank and the exhaust installed you cant get to them.  the story continues managing to extend the connections to reach the antenna (arm is now brused and bleeding) relize the previous iodiot (i plead the fifth again) use the same color wires for all the power connections. What to H..L pluged in the wires funny noise then nothing. remove the antenna again for diagnostics - one wire hot all the time (good thing) gnd wire ok (good thing) one wire never hot (vere bad thing). remove center console drivers side carpet cover check relay (another good thing) remove pasenger side console carpet find wire coming from radio to antenna no power (bad thing) the iodiot that ran this wiring fused the line (good thing) fused the line behind the radio ,too short to reach (bad thing)with out removing the upper console. replaced the fuse abd made wire longer . everything works now will relpace the console and exhause monday night. LESSON LEARNED: short wires may be neat but a little longer wire makes later repairs repairs possible.

PS thanx again mkappp7879
