I know you guys aren't too keen on Craigslist, but what about this one? It says it's at a dealership in Gresham. I've sent an email asking which one and for the VIN.

(By the way, we found our 77 on Craigslist and have been happy with it...just the normal problems you'd expect from a 30 year old car!)

Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks.
#2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
Karen, that one looks good and the price is not bad. I would talk them down.......wouldn't hurt to ask.
I love my 2000 C5 and I bought it used and have all the paperwork and stuff too. Right now it's got 44,500 miles on it and it's a male car - Otis is his name. I always give him a hand job when I wash him.

Here's what the guy sent in response to my email. Click on the link about the supposed former owner:

Guess this car was his "chick" magnet!
Wonder if the seats are clean!?!
The Carfax dates make sense considering the dates in this Wikipedia article. I just don't understand how the dealer can know who the previous owner was...the car was sold at auction....

I agree with Larry..... Just as a comparison ta go by I gave $26 for my 01 vert with 9500 mi on the clock. It was a 1 owner and I received all of the detail and history from him. (including window sticker and service history, etc.)

Being a military family, Pam and I got a good laugh out of the previous owners story. Man did he ever screw up, literally
That reduction in rank is probably the worst that happened to him.
I think seeing that Vette in your hometown, you should atleast go drive it and make a counter offer. Either that or Pam and I are coming down to drive it.
Did you see the 2002 Pewter Corvette he has?

Don't think I'll pursue it. Checked the blue book and it is over priced. Besides, Mike'd probably divorce me if I bought another Vette!!!
But, if ya want me to take a look for ya, I will!

Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.
I think you made a wise decision Karen. I agree the car is way over priced and I was also wondering why the mileage wasn't stated in the ad.
