'81' emblems

Good Morning All;
I'm new to this list and I have a question. I have been looking for "nose" and "gas cap" emblems for my "81". I can still order rear aemblem from GM. But I can't find any "Nose". Are they the same? They look that way... looking at the emblems that are on the car. The only difference I can see is that the rear is flat, while the front is slightly curved.

Fred, sorry, I just went over to their site and it wouldn't come up. Possibly no longer available. (80 came up but no 81)I've heard 80 and 81 are hard to find. Mike

Fred, keep an eye out on ebay for one. Nobody repro's them. The only difference between a '80 and a '81 flag emblem is, '80 is a chrome outline and '81 is a black outline. I managed to score a NOS '81 nose emblem on ebay. The guy listed it as an '80, but I noticed the outline was black. That guy was PO'ed when he figured out to late that he had sold me one hard to find emblem.

I have seen some 80's painted chrome black, can't tell the difference. I have a used one, looks good, needs only the double tape. I have a NOS, but its NOT for sale. I can usually find one at Carlisle, PA. You should find the tank emblem, it is still out there. Got any 81 stuff to trade? LMK back channel VETTOM@nc.rr.com

Hahahaaa...nope...no parts to trade yet. I'm still getting this one "squared away". I've considered buying a "80" nose emblem and using some "Emnu" on the border. My adventure now is to investigate my "smog" pump. The belt has been taken off. I assume that it's inoperable. I would like to remove it, but I don't know for sure what this pump has to do with the running of the engine. It idles rough now, but smoothes with a rise in rpm. The rough idle may be the result of the disconnected pump. I need to post this question to the "forum" on "Engines". Thanks for the "reply"

rough idle, may not be pump, I am changing carb on mine. ECM may also be a culprit. I am running air pump, and rough on mine is carb, cause its been smooth before. good luck with it, I've been buying parts for mine for a while now....
