I have a 1978 Corvette that I am restoring. I have looked everywhere for the back window chrome trim. I am missing the pieces that go across the top, down the right side and the corner piece. Can someone tell me where I can find these?Be the first to like this post

I've seen these from time to time on eBay but think your best bet would be talking to Don or Larry at Corvette and High Performance in Olympia, or the folks at Pacific Corvettes, in Puyallup. Pacific Corvettes has a huge used parts selection. If you need any other help with your 78 feel free to contact me, I'm by no means mechanically inclined

I know of no parts catalogs that carry these OEM or reproduction pieces. Your best bet is to check some salvage links for cars that might be parted out such as JUST CORVETTES. They have two 80 cars which have the black trim moldings on them. The black can be stripped and polished if desired.

Where are you at? I'm going to look at a 79 tomorrow to remove some parts from it. I can check on the rear window trim if you want.

Are you looking for it in the bright finish or painted? I just finalized the hunt to replace them on my 79 as I converted all the black trim to bright. If you find a black piece that has no visible blemishes, some 000 steel wool and some elbow grease will reveal the bright finish.
I have one that is near perfect except for a 1 inch dull spot resulting from inconsistent metal content. It's a great 20 footer though. If you're interested, let me know.
BTW, in my searches, most parts places wanted $100+ for the set, not willing to break them up and wanted about another $50 for shipping and handling due to the oddball size.

try contacting Brandy at muptmore@hot.rr.com. It is a Corvette salvage yard in Texas, great prices and shipping. I got an original spare tire from them for my wife's 78.

Vette(s): 78 coupe, Dk Brown, ZZ4 385 hp fast burn, steeroid rack/pinion, Keisler 5 speed. Built to run with C5 and C6. on the highway. Can't beat them. But they can't lose me in there mirrors. LOL I built it to enjoy. So far I've tripped through 15 States.
