There is a local 81 Convertible looks just like it in silver.  The story on it is a local restoration shop bought a wrecked 75 vert and an 81 and made the one from two so can be done.  Whatever the story behind this gold one, it sure looks good in pictures.  A lot of cars just look awful when made into convertibles and some cars look good in convertibles with the top down, but look horrible as coupes.  Not so the C3.  Somehow it looks good top up or down, coupe or convertible and bubble back or flat window.

I like the looks of this car. Like Tux, I would snatch it up if my garage wasn't full if toys.

Well Scott.... the green light just came on.... My wife really likes the looks of the car and the fact that is is a vert.

Does anybody live close to Wylie Texas that can look at this car for me? Tuxblacray2008-07-20 05:37:55

There is about 6 or more members up in the Dallas area that are close to it, maybe you can get on of them to take a look at it. Joel lives up there also, I'm about 150 miles from it. fp_vetter722008-07-19 13:25:40

I'll start with the open request.... here....and I have contacted the buyer for additional info and his blessing to send someone to review the car....

Like Marshall I believe I remember this car when it was on Ebay some time ago. It had the same write up as now. We had the same discussion as we are having now about the validity. I believe we determined that it was done at a conversion shop.

I am pretty sure the conversion is using an earlier model tub since I can see the Astro Ventilation grills behind the drop top hatch.

For me it would be nice to know the history but it would not be the defining factor of the purchase.

Sad part is I will sell the Blacray if I buy this car... It has been in my garage longer than anything I have ever bought to drive.... Hmmmmnnnn... but then again it is just a car ..... Right????? Tuxblacray2008-07-20 06:06:54

Thanks Micki,

I sent Jason a PM asking if I can get an address for you to review the car. I told him that I would be providing you with his cell phone number so that you could call ahead to him. I just did this so he hasn't responded yet. I would think this would be okay though since he has the number posted on EBAY.

He says...... "Please call with any questions - Jason 214-616-8207, cental time but I stay up late- call anytime." I will check back on this later. I have family here today and Lora and I are leaving Monday on vacation. I will catch up with you later on .

I too love the way the '80-'82s look as a convertible. I've always like that body style and the convertible is just the icing on the cake.

That would be cool if you got it Tux. Good luck!
