Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

I just tried to load a pdf document to my personal folder and received an error.  I then tried to load a jpg to the folder and it worked.  So now that I know that is the way it is suppose to work.

If not can someone tell me what is going on.  It would be nice if I could post things and attach a link to the response.  A good example is I'm sending Adam the pdf documents I have on C3 vacuum system.  I'm sure more people would like them and I will send them copies if requested as long as they have their email listed in their profile.

But that does not demonstrate the true value of this forum as I have benefited so much from in the past.  Bunch of great guys with good advise and fun comments.

Second but related item.  Is there a way to send a pdf or any attachment to someone using the Privet Messenger email?  I could not see how to do that either.

All in all, I ended up sending attachments via the email address they had listed on their profiles and then noted that I did that on the forum so others would know.

Any better ideas or am I doing something wrong.

The Personal File Folder area (PFF) is for storing images and such but there is a file size limitation, that might have been what was generating the error.

The Personal Home Page area (PHP) should allow you to upload most anything in to it.  I would have to double check to see if there is a file size limit but I'm pretty sure there is.

To the best of my knowledge you can not attach a document to a message within the Private Message area (PM).  E-mail attachements are certainly doable in all of the services that I'm familiar with.

"You are only permitted to store image files (.jpg, .gif, .bmp, etc.) and HTML files (.html, .htm) in your C3VR Member Page Folder.

Your account currently allows you to upload files with a max size of 500kb.
"

This size limit is PER upload.
Basically, it will not accept a PDF file, as far as I know. Most PDF files are waaaay over the limit, anyway.
Perhaps when Adam starts working on the new forum software changeover, he might find a way to store PDF files and such for all to access. As long as they are NOT copyright protected, it should be ok....

Thanks for sending me the info, too, btw....Thumbs Up

You are welcome to the info.

For my work I have the full adobe package that allows me to split pdf files, add to them or even make MicroSoft Word documents from them.  Most of what I have is open domain stuff.  Evil Smile

It would be great if we could post pdfs as not everyone can read MicroSoft Office products on their computers.
