Carfax won't work. In Ohio, I was able to call the main office of the Dept. Of Motor Vehicles and obtain the address to request the title history on my car. It cost me like $4.00 for each title search but, it was a small price to pay to get the information I wanted for the car history. It came back with 7 previous titled owners when I was told that I was the 3rd owner when I bought the car. All were fairly short ownerships. No matter, I still love the car and she's my baby.

Thats good news cause I bought my car in Ohio also and they have a great guide site online. I paid for a registered owner search and a title search. The check went out Friday for $4.00. How long did it take you to get the information back fedexicman?

It took about 12 days to get the info back from Columbus. But, it was $4.00 bucks per search and they only search back on title at a time. Not sure if they will search back any further than the amount you send. You may want to call and ask them. Good luck!

Wow the lady from Ohio DMV just called and said the car is to old and is sending me my four bucks back, without any guidance. She did say the car was registered as a historical viechcle. The plates when I got the car were regular plates, butttt when I opened the glove box there was a historical plate left in there. I will do a background on that plate. Privacy laws blocked out a little info. I have two othet sorses. A friend that is a Swat team will check and last is my insurance guy. (who insures all my cars for 35 years, "at least 100 cars" butttt when I mentioned it to him he acted so uninterested well you guys know what I mean. I will keep you posted.

If this is important to you, your best bet is a licensed private investigator that is experienced in insurance and vehicle cases. It definitely can be done.

Wow, they must have had a change in policy or something in the last 3 years. Or maybe just a change in personel... The latter being the probable cause. Good luck with your research.

I called my insurace guy after many dead ends. I told them it could determine the value of the car for, if I could fid out the background After they reserched my request they came back with "why dont you just have it appraised?" Duuuuuu How rutine. have a feeling a DMV investagater will be the way to go. I really dont care about the cars history (other than interest) I know they didnt produce many 71 vert LS6s I think 24 is close. The car is original down to the glass. I would like a recognized expert to look and do what ever to authenticate its authenticity. Good Job State Farm Duuuuu. I know bloomington hasthere survivor gig but I have to work too much and I dont have much spare time.
