I thought I had the same problem, but after reading the explanation; it's very clear now. Makes 100% sense. However, I would suggest to add an option (if at all possible); let's say I get the last notification; read the reply from my gmail inbox and don't go back to this particular thread. If someone else bring the thread back to life a month or so later, it will probably go unanswered, as I won't go back to it without notification. So maybe an option could be to still send a notification when it gets updated, if I haven't been to that thread in the last 30 days or so.

Count me into the scenario as well. It was sporadic until I returned on a regular basis to update a certain post.
It is important to folks who maintain posts or for those who are seeking answers from a given post.
I understand the change and find this registry to be similar in operational design to similar forums.
Not a big deal for me..... but yep it is different than it once was.

[QUOTE=dwright] I thought I was being ignored.
See.... we were only being ignored from a Business Standpoint.....
After spending a Gazillion years in management I understand this totally.... It doesn't make sense.
If you don't notify me I may not come back....
Point in case....
I've been away for several days. I am updating the Gathering Hotel Post. I received no notification that lukesvette had signed up.
but.... I did get a notification from T-Mans 70,73 in his reply to Paul. So I went to the site to see what the heck T-man was talking about.
So.......
nothin from Paul = NO LOOKY
somethin from T-Man = GO LOOKY....
Just the opposite thought process to get a desired result.
Besides, This is part of the root cause folks keep askin me why their name isn't on the list. It's cause I don't know they have signed up. I don't check the site as often as I once did.
For me it is a nice reminder to have a site notify me.
Now I now why.
Thanks for the explaination.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I like it. I think that is a good idea. A forum is to share and that is what is so great about his one. If you do not log on then you cannot share so I do not have any problem with the setup the way it is.
I did notice that I only get one response to a Forum now where I used to get a bunch. I just use the email to tell me I need to log in to get information.

OK I have to say that after some time with this new email notification I need to say I don't like it. I find I don't visit as often as I did when I got the thread reply notification each time. When that was the case I would quite often log on to reply to the thread and in turn navigate around checking out the other threads. It actually forced me to log into the site more often than it does now. I would suggest maybe keeping an eye on number of visits now as compared to the old way.
I want the old way back.
Sorry but that's my story and I'm stickin to it. However I must say "I still luv ya'll."
Most of you won't respond to this post anyway because you won't get an email notification.
