I think that is what is happening, Adam.
Terry, and Bruce(and anyone else having this issue), you can "subscribe" to a forum topic, but unless you check the "Email notify me of replies" box after making a post yourself, you won't get an email. If you start a thread, and check the box, you'll get emails for each reply after yours...until YOU make another post in that thread, and then you'll have to again click the Email Notify box.
IF you guys are clicking the box, and still not getting email notices, I think it would have to be some kind of communication issue with the email service. I know I get emails notices daily on the forums/threads I want to watch, or need emails about.
I know it's frustrating...believe me! One way or another, it will get figured out.

I'm only receiving topic reply notifications sporadically as well. Just to let you know.

Ok, so now I need a better explanation of this from you both.
How do you know you are NOT receiving email notices?
Btw, I've received a notice about each reply to this thread (except my own) so far.
When I log on and see a topic I had subscribed to with lots more replies I've never seen, I know I'm not being notified of them. I used to be a cop...in the law enforcement world, we called that a "clue"!

I did receive a reply notice from you as well...so far, so good.

When I reply to a post the email notify box is already checked, I don't have to do it. I am thoroughly convinced that the problem is not with the site. I would use the C3VR email, but I just started a website, www.theradiatorhospital.com, and use that mail address. Now here's the unexplainable. Sine I started this thread I have tweaked a couple things and have received all of these posts and a whole bunch more.
I'm not sure what I did, but we'll see how long this lasts.
Veddy, veddy strange..........................
Thanks Guy's "T"

I haven't received any reply notifications since myT71's 4:28 post yesterday. The email notifications box is set to do so and has been.

Next time you come to a thread that you think you should have gotten notifications for, but didn't.... BEFORE replying, click the "Topic Options" button at the top-right of the thread. Does the last option on the list that comes up say "Watch" or "Un-Watch" This Topic?

After my reply above, I have only gotten ONE notice...and it was for the two posts BEFORE I made mine!
The Topic Options says "Unwatch". The "Email Notify me of Replies" box(below) was checked when I typed this message, too.
Maybe the C3VR server has "become aware", and is starting the revolution, and the countdown to Armageddon....."I'll be bach"...

Ok. I found your answer.
In the lastest version of the forum software, they added something that most forums already do....
It will only send one notification per forum or topic since members last visit.
Meaning, you log in, subscribe to a topic, someone replies, you get a notice, you don't go to the site yet, someone else replies to the topic, you will not get notified, someone else replies, you still don't get notified, you view the thread (you reply or don't), someone else replies, you WILL get notified.
Make sense?
It's to prevent sending emails to people that don't log in often. And really, all you need is the one notice, which has a link that will take you to the thread, and you can read all replies that have been posted. You don't really need to be notified of EVERY reply if you haven't been in since the first time it notified you.

OK got it. Your right, that is the way most other sites do it. However personally I don't like it. If I have a thread that's important to me and I don't have the time to log onto the site and check for posts all the time, I can read the posts in my email.
I'll live with it but that's my honest opinion.

Yes, but from a "business standpoint" it makes more sense to "force" you to come back for page views. Sponsors like page views. They don't get page views if you're only reading emails.
Most sites only send you a notice that a reply has been made but forces you to click the link to read the reply. I have that option here too, but I know people like to get the text of the reply in the email, so I keep it that way.
Call it a compromise.

OK...now I understand. Other sites are like that.
