This may sound dumb but i just can't figure our your search engine algorithm. I put in very common terms and it returns no topics. I guess I am am not holding my mouth right when I hit search. I have read and followed the instructions and still no luck. Then I find the very subject in one of the forums by paging through which is interesting but very time consuming. Any hints on what i can do.

Can you give some examples of your "common terms"?  I just put in a few ("quadrajet" & "alternator") and got the expected number of returns.  Are you remembering to change the return period?  Unless I'm looking for something specific that I know is recent, I usually change to "All Time" - the default of 30 days seldom returns many threads for most generic searches.

Are you following these rules for the search criteria?

  • Single words are acceptable
    • Example: brakes
  • Single words must NOT be simple words such as 'the', 'be', 'a', etc.
  • Multiple word searches must be enclosed in double quotes (") or separated by keywords (AND, OR, NOT, NEAR)
    • Example 1: "brake pads"
    • Example 2: "brakes" OR "pads"
    • Example 3: "brake pads" OR "brake shoes"

You can also use the Google C3VR Search box on the right side of the C3VR Home Page.
