With the new ability for Search Engines to read and index the forum threads within C3VR's website, you may want to be careful about posting your email address in a thread.  If you post it, you should probably post something like this:

aAaDaAaMaWa@aCa3aVaRa.aCaOaM (and tell them to remove the lower case a's)

Or anything that puts invalid characters into the address:

AD((AM((@((C((3))V(((R)))).(((C)))O(((M))  (remove all parens)
ADAMW1111111C3VR22222COM  (replace string of 1s with @, string of 2s with .)

Some people do this, but I think email searchers will figure this out:

JoeBloeNOSPAM@Email.com (remove NOSPAM)

The best thing to do is send someone a PM to give them your email address.

If you have any questions about this, please let me know.

Are our profiles safe from this?

I would prefer to direct a member to my profile in order to e-mail me.

Also, other forums act as a go between and will forward e-mails to other members without divilging the recievers info.  Then if the reciever chooses to respond, the subsequent e-mails are done "person to person".

Just some thoughts,

Anthony

But....I LIKE getting the Viagra spam... NOT!!!

Didn't the old forum-ware have a button to e-mail the members thru C3VR?(at the bottom of the post box?)
I know the mods can get the e-mail addresses, but not the other members. The problem with P/M-ing folks is, they don't always have their preferences set to "Notify by E-mail" of a P/M...so...you just have to wait until they log back in for them to get them. Oh well...
Life goes on...

The bots can't get to our profiles.  Just forum threads.
