For the last two weeks or so, when I post a reply to a thread, it is taking anywhere from 30 seconds, to over 1 minute for the post to re-appear. Normally, this only takes a few seconds, like 5-6. The page loading from the home page/active topics is a quick as normal, there are no other issues; e-mail is fine, web-surfing fine etc.
Just for fun, I went to another "forum" I am a memeber of
, and the post reply time was normal, a couple of seconds. For some reason, it only appears to be a problem for me here. I have done the things the
have suggested, as far as clearing the temp files, etc., with no improvement.
The text at the lower left of my screen says "Done" when I post, but it will take another 45-60 seconds for the page to re-appear.
It does not matter how many people are logged in on the forum, either, so the server being busy/swamped doesn't seem to be the issue.
Any idears?

Is anyone else experiencing the trouble Joel is having?
Hey Joel... have you had the chance to use someone elses computer to post a reply here? Maybe at a friends house or some public place with internet access?
I am out of ideas or reasons why it would only be happening to him.

. Are you running any pop-up blocking software that could be causing havoc? Running any evil software (translation - symantec)? Might also try disabling your anti-virus software, reboot, and try posting again.Sign In to Like this post
I have noticed some refresh delays when logged in at home via my "wonderful" (not!) dialup connection. But when logged in here at the office (where the internet pipe is HUGE) refresh time has been very quick.
(the original click to post this came back in less than 5 seconds)

I have all of the same software I've had for over a year now, so no changes there, other than the normal "Winders" and "HP" updates.
I have no friends
, so, no, I haven't tried using a different 'puter, but that is an idea.
I am also relegated to "dial-up", but I have always been underpriveledged.
My posts, and replies to post, always took about 5-6 seconds before this started happening.
I may restore this turd to a few weeks back, just to see if the last automatic update may have something to do with it. Is that a good idear? Wouldn't hurt, eh?
As soon as I post this message, I will come back, and let ya'll know how long this one took, from the time I hit "Post reply", until it actually appears.
30 seconds...

Mine post as soon as i click on it.
Might have just been a bug.
System Restore can be a wonderful thing.
I am on year 7 with a HP. I have rescued it several times and the times seem to be more and more frequent. You would not believe the programs I run just to keep this old thing afloat. We have two more here but this one has been with me, its like an old friend or is it old toothache.
