Every time I get on this website I have to manually type in my user name and password. It won't save my log-on info so I have to type it in every time. What is really annoying....sometimes when I click the back tool I get sent completely off the forum and have to re-enter all my log-on info again ???

I'm presently being forced to use "third world dial-up" but even at that, I shouldn't be having this problem.......HELP !!

Thanks...rich

This particular instance was my fault. I had to reset the system and you got caught in it.  Sorry about that!

As for the Login and password not saving issue... First, make sure you are checking the "Save Login on My Computer" box on the Login page.  If you are doing that, then it is probably a cookies issue.

read this article to help reset your C3VR cookies:
http://www.VetteRegistry.net/help/help_login.htm#Trouble

If that doesn't help click the Delete cookies set by this forum link at the bottom of the forums main page (category list).

And you pretty much should NEVER use use BACK button while in the C3VR Forums. Especially if you were just entering a post.  Every time you go to a C3VR forum page, whether you used the BACK button or just by clicking around on links, each page gets completely reloaded, wiping out anything that was there before and updating with current info.

As a general rule, if you are writing a LONG forum post, BEFORE you click any buttons, highlight and copy the post to the clipboard (CTRL-C).  That way, if the forum loses it, you can just paste it back into the entry form (CTRL-V).

Mine's not quite as bad as that, but I do have issues. I wonder if the OS has any thing to do with it. I'm running 98 and often when I cancel a pic it throws me out on to the street, and I have to log back in through channels. It's enough to make ya spit sometimes. Good thing I have comcast. Am I just spoiled Confused?

I have had the username/password issue since I joined the site. I have done all of the above with negative results. This is occurs on both of my computers.

I'm with Adam on this one. It is most likely a cookie issue. You may have to do some manual configuring to let it allow cookies from here, or something to that effect. I was having some of the same issues, but not in long time now...of course, now that I said that out loud...
I have C3VR as a "bookmark" in Firefox, and all I do is click on it, and it brings up the "Active topics in the Last 24 hours" page... I never even have to log in.
Now...on the puter at the shop, where very Tom-Dick-and Harry that walks in can use it, I do have to log in, but that's by my choice. I haven't told it to "Save login on my computer".
Ya'll may need to check in your "Tools" file on your browser, to see if you have a "Remember passwords for sites" button you can turn on-off. In Firefox, it's in the "Tools" section, "Options", then "Security". Click the "Remember Passwords.." box, and make sure there is a checkmark there. It should save the password next time you log on.
I don't use IE anymore, but I don't have to log in when using it, either.

I'm somewhat of a Corvette chatterbox. I find interesting people all over the place so I belong to three other forums as well as the registry. I cruise around the other forums quiet smooothly with no issues, but with the registry I seem to have to stand on my head to enter and I also get thrown out on the street frequently. I use back, forward, in, out, up, down, on the other sites with ease. The registry is a great site and I love it but it sure treats me rough.
