I use a cable modem connection both at work and home both connections are 4Mbps down, 2Mbps up.
Before anyone gets riled up about my BW, I must confess I run the Road Runner network down here in San Antonio.
I can volunteer to answer any broadband questions anyone has, since I'll be asking many more questions about my 73 roadster.....
