I'm sure all of that kind of stuff is gonna be a temporary deal. Once the bugs Adam is chasing are found/fixed/given up on, he'll have time to fine-tune everything. It's a work in progress.
Thanks for the hard work, Boss!

I got the e-mail, Joel, that still doesn't mean I didn't freak out. I knew it wasn't GONE, but if you can't use it, it is gone. I did go to the Oriole game tonight (I'm a glutton for punishment, aren't I?).

I haven't quite fixed the problem, but I've added something that I think should help prevent people form losing their posts.
If you've ever noticed on the message form, to the left of the post button, every few seconds you'll see a little moving circle. That is supposed to be keeping your connection to the site alive while you enter your post. However, at exactly 10 minutes (if you're just sitting on the page, or typing the post in, but haven't clicked any buttons yet) that little circle will change to a message that says "Error connecting to server." It is at this point, while that message is displayed, if you click the "Post" button, you will receive the Access Denied message and your post will be gone.
What I've done is added code that will disable the "Post" button (so you can not accidentally submit your post while the connection is lost) and the message will say "Error connecting to server. Try clicking Preview button, then wait about 15 seconds, to reconnect." In my testing, it seems that if you click the preview button, it will show a preview of your post and reconnect to the server. The "Post" button will then become enabled and you should be able to click it, your post will save and you will not lose it.
I'm curious, though if any of you ever see this "Error connecting to server message" BEFORE 10 minutes have passed. If you care to test it, open a New post, reply or quick reply page... type the current time in the message box so you don't forget what time you started this test. Then wait. Keep your eye on the little circle next to the Post button. Does it ever change to the "Error" message? If so, how long has it been since you typed the time into the message box? 10 minutes? More? Less? Let me know.
Thanks!
(Interestingly, as I type this, I've received the message. I think it was 10 minutes, but I'm not sure.)

I've never actually timed it, but I can assure you it has appeared for me a way less than 10 minutes. I have seen the "Loading" text in that same spot, when it comes up every few seconds.
Then again...

Immediately after posting this, I went in to Edit the post...and got the "Error Connecting to Server" message. This happens within SECONDS. Let's see if this one goes thru, cause I gotta git back to werk...It did NOT dis-able the Post button, either.

What browser? Firefox, I'm guessing.

Joel,
What color was the "Error connecting to server" message? Red or Black? Did it also say "Try clicking the preview button..." or just "Error connecting to server?"

I just loaded up firefox, and I can tell already the button disabling is working. I wonder if you need to clear your cache.

So Adam,
you are asking me to wait and watch for ten or more minutes of my life that I cant get back!
Actually I have never seen the circle before today. Maybe I just never noticed it, but now I see it for a brief second about every 30 seconds. I dont think I had that before?
I typed a message back that I let sit for 16 minutes and everything worked fine.
Nice job, now if I could only get those 16 minutes back!
