I tried to post a hyperlink to some new pics of my 74. I entered the URL in the box that opened & hit ok. But nothing appeared in the reply box. Is there a trick to it?

If using the hyperlink button doesn't work, you can always just type the URL in manually into the message box like this:
and it should automatically convert it to a hyperlink after you type it followed by pressing the space bar or enter key.
