Ok guys.

I noticed this too. And was actually working on a fix before I even saw this thread.

I think I have fixed the problem.

You should now get notified of any reply to a thread that you checked the "Notify me..." box when you posted to it OR if you click the "Watch this thread" link at the top of a thread that you participated in or not.

You should get one reply each time anyone replies to a watched thread or if someone edits a message in a watched thread.

I have not yet implemented the Watch Forum feature. It's on my list of to-dos.
