Changing name in member control panel

I tried adding my last name to my profile name in the member control panel and when I click to update, it tells me my e-mail address has been changed and that I need to re-activate my account to continue using the website. I close the page, reopen and I am still logged on and have no problem getting into the site, but my last name has not been added. What am I doing wrong?

Are you talking about using this link:
Or the "My Profile" link on the "My Account" menu?

When you go into your MCP, you'll see "Edit Profile". Click on that, and
when it opens up, you'll see a place with your e-mail addy, and under that the
line "(must be changed in C3VR Member Profile)" as a link. Click on that, and it will take you to the page where you can change your user/screen name.(You will need to enter your passwerd to do any Edits on this page.)
Farther down that same page, you'll see a section for "Personal Info". You can edit any of that info from there, too. Just be sure to click on the "Update Profile" button at the bottom of the page.
If this is not the info you are looking for, we'll try something different.
Oooopsie! Looks like the Boss is already on it!

Yes...using "member control panel" link the clicking on edit profile. I then try to change my "real name" to include my last name.

[/QUOTE]AH! Yeah, I should probably have that blocked off too. That will not keep your update as it is based on your First Name in your C3VR Profile and automatically updates itself using your C3VR Profile First Name. So you can't really change it. It's a security measure so people's Last Names aren't accidentally out there for the world to see.

Ok. I updated the Forum Profile edit page to reflect the fact that certain fields have to be updated in your C3VR Profile.
Hopefully this will end the confusion.
Thanks.
