I vaguely remember someone saying recently that they had trouble finding C3VR via a google search.  I couldn't figure out why that would be.  Until now.

I too noticed how google search results for "c3 vette", "C3 vette registry", "c3 registry" and even "c3vr" were almost completely void of results for VetteRegistry.net.

I just researched it a little further and found that someone the googlebots had been automatically banned from the site.  Not sure why.  This would explain why Yahoo, Bing and others didn't seem to be affected.  From what I can tell, it's been this way for over a year!  This may explain the lower than usual traffic!

I unbanned them and resubmitted the site to google for indexing.

I'll be keeping an eye on new auto-bans and make sure this doesn't happen again.

I would suspect that in 48 hours or so, C3VR pages will start to reappear in google search.

Shocked We have "autoban"?!?
LOL

I know I haven't been able to find C3VR using google....not that I try very often, but I do if I'm having trouble logging in. That usually turns out to be something else going on, tho.
Glad you figured it out......whew! Clap

Ditto. Kinda tough when trying to use a computer away from home or directing someone else there. Thanks for the fix Adam

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Yes.  If the site detects what it thinks is a threat to the site's security (SQL Injection), it will automatically ban the IP from where the request came.  I have no idea why google would appear to be a threat.  It shouldn't.  I get emails when an IP is banned. I'll be paying closer attention to them from now on and make sure google isn't banned again.
