[/QUOTE] Well I just posted this in my Mushy brakes thread, but I thought it might contribute a chuckle so I'll post it here for your enjoyment:
Went to Wendy's 2 hours ago, brakes working wonderful (better than ever), if still a little squishy.
Turn off the car at the speaker so they can hear me... and when I put the key in the run position, the car starts chugging. It was like the batt was almost dead, and the starter was turning the engine over slow, but I never went to start it. I freak out and try to turn the key off, and do, but it still does it for like 20 more seconds. Smoke starts pouring out of the hood, and everything goes black in the car. No electricity at all.
I'm guessing the starter solenoid and starter are toast now, probably the battery too. I hope nothing else besides that. Had to have it towed home for $80.
And to top it all off, when pushing it to a parking lot, I ran over my big toe on my left foot which is bleeding now and i can't really move it. I think it's probably broke but I'll go to the hospital tomorrow morning.

defseqx has 17 posts. That alone should qualify him.
Then there's the sympathy story that I'd assume he made up to better his odds... however... he couldn't make that up! That's too damn funny! (And sad all that the same time!)
Hope your toe (and Vette) are better soon!

O
Damn dude! That's gotta hurt! Hope you are OK. Ya know, for less than $80, you can get a AAA towing package and if the driver is the same guy I had, you might get your car painted
The really important question is...did you get your food from Wendy's?

Went to the hospital this morning. Hyperextended big toe, stretched ligaments, and hairline fracture. Also bleeding from ruptured blood vessels.
As far as the car, still dunno what's up with it. I'll try to get under it today if I can after work, but I think the starter is toast, maybe battery. Thanks for the kind words guys, I appreciate it.

Ouch! But I have to admit that the same thing happened to me once when I was pushing the '81 I used to have. I just about reached a gas station when my fuel pump crapped out. As the car was slowing down I jumped out to push while it was still moving, and it ran over my right foot.
It wasn't as bad as yours though! Good luck with the foot and with the vette!!

Alright well to hijack the thread a little more lol, I got it all fixed up. The starter was toasted (and the wire boots covering the terminals on it were what smoked), I replaced it and had the batt charged and all is well! She starts better too!

As for my toe, well it's doing fine other than some minor pains. I have to wear steel toe boots to work on the jets every day so I'm going to wear them with the car now too lol.
