I guess I am an idiot!! I have tried to follow the many examples of posting a signiture picture on the forum pages. I am up to seeing a red "X" and realized that my jpg is very large. I am hip to the loading time problem, so how do I shrink jpg down to size, and how close am I to posting a picture?
Thanks,

Hey Charlie,

Resizing an image is pretty easy with most any program that lets you edit images. I mostly use an old program called PaintShopPro, but Microsoft Paint is pretty easy to use also. After opening the image in Paint click on 'Image', then Stretch/Skew. Numbers entered into the Stretch horizontal and vertical boxes will alter the size of your image. Smaller than 100 will decrease the image size while larger than 100 will increase the image size. Placing the tip of the mouse pointer arrow in the lower right hand corner of the resized image will give you an idea of the size of the image. Then make sure to use the 'Save As' function to save the new image with a similar name.

Then follow through the 'IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - Large Picture Posting' post to get your image visable to everyone. Let me know if you need help with any of the steps.

I apologize to Norsky for calling ANY Corvette owner (especially a '69 owner) an idiot. This now makes me not an idiot. Thanks to Norsky for guidence on my picture problem. The site makes it hard enough to be really proud to see your car on it!!

SO! I started to play with the image, and to follow your instructions for the hyperlink. I am getting pretty good at editing the photo size (I think I'm still too big), but am getting nowhere with the hyperlink. My url has no ? to replace. Any suggestions? Did I understand correctly?
I suppose I should tell you I use yahoo foe a server, and I am using their photo shop.

I don't use yahoo as a server, so I can't say for sure, but some site don't allow linking directly, but make you navigate through their "home page" to get to your destination.

When I input this info, http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/22de5168/bc/corvette/__tn_corvette.jpg?bc3HlY_A4Ai1MVzm (the address of your pic) into my browser, yahoo says no such directory.
When I input this info, http://www.freewebs.com/privategod/Mine2a.JPG (the address of my photo) into my browser, it takes me to a page displaying only the pic in my sig. I would believe that it has to do with using yahoo as they server.

If I had any clue of what you just said, I would

Thanks again,

I don't know about smart, I think its more like experienced. Whatever knowledge I have, I got it the same way you are getting it, wrestle with it long enough, and you figure it out eventually, OR you go mad |confusing| and then it doesn't matter anymore, so it's all good. |wink|

The latest picture I posted with the last response along with all others that went through comes from me saving it on yahoo photo.
This allows me to store albums, edit pictures to a limited degree, and call up a url to use on c3vr.
I don't claim to know how all this works, but I got a picture up!
