OK! I think I finally found the culprit. There was a piece of code that was running every 3 hours that updated the posts counts based on the number in the old forum table.
I've changed that code and it should no longer happen!
Man, what a pain that was to track down. When I haven't touched a piece of code in years, I tend to forget about it.
Thanks for hanging in there while I iron out the bugs.

Something else weird I have noticed that has had me befuddled...yeah...I know...
When on the 24hr page, the last post doesn't always show that last actual poster. For instance, in this thread, you posted your last post while I was editing my post, the one just before yours. Even tho YOU had the last post in the thread at the time, the 24hr page showed me to be the last poster, apparently because my edit posted after your post. NOt a big deal, but it was confusing the he ll outta me the other day, because I kept going back into a thread to see what else someone had posted, but kept going to the exact same last post. Someone had edited their previous post, and it was showing that person as the last poster in the thread.
ouch...my head herts....

Yeah, I know there are some issues with the jump to last post. Not a high priority item, though.

The instant/pm system should now be working. Look for a "Send PM" or "Send IM" link under or next to people's names throughout the site.
If you receive a message, you will NOT get an email, but when you come to the site, either a window will pop up, and/or you'll see a notice at the top of the page.
Thanks!

Until I create a more message-like system, this is what we'll use. (You also won't have access to old PMs until then).
Thanks!
