I'm just simply trying to get an idea of what is the number one reason that kept people from attending. You all certainly didn't have to explain yourselves if you didn't want to. And certainly didn't have to share any personal details you didn't want to.
Ha! You so predictable. I knew you were going to say that. lol. Even over the internet, and a few get togethers I know you all to well. Too funny.

I'd have to agree you were not asking nor prying. But,... and these are not "excuses." To me excuses are to cover a lie. I like the term "reasons" to clarify the truth, which I feel and probably many others did also to give you their reasons for not attending. Reasons go beyond the scope of set questions in a poll IMO.

Some people got so detailed in their reply to this thread I was worried they thought I was bashing them for not coming. Doing this stuff online versus in person can sometimes be hard to understand what it is I'm trying to say/do.
I'm just trying to figure out if there is a way that I can increase attendance at future gatherings. I'm hoping the "reasons" (
) for not coming this year will help me figure that out.

And I only asked for a description in the "Other" choice because I may have missed a reason or two that fits many people. But some of the descriptions fall under many of the choices I listed. I was looking for the NUMBER ONE reason that caused someone to not attend.
Thanks!

Details get to the heart of the matter. Glossing over the facts can mislead the real reason people are responding.

A WHOLE HEARTED agreement Sarge. I replyed because I also had REASONS. Excuses come from irresponsible people. I have nothing to hide. Priorities get you farther than being two faced. Can't speak for the others who replied, but HONESTY is NOT the best policy, it's the ONLY policy.

Ok, FINE! You want the truth??
Its really because I don't like any of you people!
ps. See ya in Carlisle!

I was really looking forward to Colorado, but Jury duty took priority. I hope to make one one of these days. Sorry I missed it.

No excuses, I will make a gathering someday but every year since I have been a member (I think three) I have already been scheduled to be somewhere else. This year it was Toronto. Where will it be in 2014 so I can start planning now to be there?
