Some of you may have noticed some down time this morning, for about 1-1/2 hours.
Some of you may have noticed errors with the site over the past few days.
The reason the site was down this morning was to, hopefully, fix the errors that were occurring.
For those technogeeks out there.... The site runs on a dedicated server, but the database was on a shared server. Every 2 or 3 months, the shared database server would cause errors on VetteRegistry.net. So I finally moved the database off the shared server and onto our own dedicated server.
I'm hoping there will be no reduction in performance, and if we're lucky an increase in performance. Also, I'm REALLY hoping the errors that we were getting will go away.
If you discover any issues caused by this switch, please let me know.
Just working to further improve everyone's experience here.
Thanks for your support!

I just made another change literally 2 minutes ago that should increase the speed of the home page and the Posts in the past 24 hours page.
Please poke around a bit more now over the next hour or so and let me know if it seems faster.
Thanks!

I wasn't on much the last few days so I did
not have the opportunity to experience the problems. Tonight seems to
be running fine. Good job!

O
Adam, I had seen a problem with the drop down boxes from the top tool bar (community, shopping, tools, etc.). If you highlighted them and they dropped, they wouldn't go back up. Now you get about a 3/4 to 1 second delay (which is good if you use a track ball, trust me) but they go back up after that every time.
When they stayed down before, it blocked any other action on the site until you went back up and clicked on the tab.
THANKS, MAN!!!!!

The drop-down menus at the top are also shaped differently! (I hate those things pooping down all the time, but they are needed.) Like Dennis, if I just happen to skweak me mouse over one accidentally, the menu would come down, and stay for several seconds.
That is definitely not happening now.
Just when ya think it cain't git no better...
