I will be publishing a SOTC (State of the Club) on May 1st, 2008. It will discuss what's been happening and what the future looks like with the club.  It will include announcements made at the 6th annual Gathering. So if you want to hear them first, be there! Smile

Also, on May 1st, we will begin the first ever "C3VR Advisory Board." It will be 6 members, preferably a mix of male and female, to help keep C3VR the best club for C3 owners and enthusiasts.  I will ask for volunteers first.  Feel free to reply to this thread or email me if you are interested.  I don't think there is a need to have people voted into this position. I think just having 6 people that would want to be a part of it should be sufficient.  Of course, they should be active members, that visit the site on a regular basis.  Most of your involvement will be online, with perhaps a phone call or two if needed.  Your first "term" will be 6 months.

Thanks for your support!

Cool idea Mr Presidentee Thumbs%20Up  I think another good mix would be a mix of people in different regions.  And I wouldn't mind serving a term also.

Should be a SOTF.  State of the Forum. We ain't no stinkin club.LOL

We know what has been happening. You know the future. (Did you sell it?)

What will be the responsibilities of the Advisory Board?
Should it be an odd number to eliminate ties?
Maybe it should be made up of Lifetime members only. They have a vested interest.

You have my interest.

I certainly agree that the advisory board should be regulars that post frequently. If you don't visit the site on a frequent basis, it's difficult to know what people are concerned about.

I would suggest the "normal term" be a year, but half of the initial board members be 6 months to start with.  That way instead of a complete turnover of members at one time there would be an overlap to provide some continuity on the board.

I think 6 months to start with is good, just to get the ball rolling.
If there happens to be voting within the board, I will be the tie-breaker.
I think it can be made up of any paid member, as long as their paid membership is valid through then end of the term they are signing up for.  I think membership on the board should be given first to Lifers, then Gold, then Standard... as mentioned, the higher the status, the more vested interest they have.

Responsibilities would be to keep tabs on what is going on with the club and site. Solicit opinions, ideas, comments from members to help direct the future of C3VR. Coordinate the info and discuss these items amongst the board to determine what if anything could/should be done.

Who else is interested?

Tux,
Adam wants volunteers. NO VOTING.
Six months is not enough time to get anything done by committee.
I agree with Norsky, 3 members for six months, 3 members for one year, then replacements are for one year.
Maybe these would be the people to bounce ideas off of. But I always felt comfortable sending a PM to Adam.
It may be difficult getting three women, but we must have at least one, to keep their perspective in any decisions.

Just thinking out loud.
