I like the quick reply at the bottom of the new forum. No need to click on reply. It is already at the bottom of the thread.

Anything, but Stock and more mods to come!
SSBC Force 10 Brakes, 3.73, TH350, 355 CID, Rack and Pinion, Vette Brakes suspension front and rear.
Too Commerical. I feel like Its just another typical website. I see that everywhere. I'm sure they are using that format for a reason, but I like the fee of this forum.
one nice thing is the posts are full screen from onside to the other. Not as much scrolling involved.

I honestly SEE no reason to change.
BUT then again I find myself holding the newspaper closer and closer to my nose so I just may need new glasses to see anything...!

Interesting mixed reviews we have here.
The main reasons I'd consider switching to the new software are technical:
* The current software (which I wrote) is not as feature rich as the new software.
* The current software has speed issues.
* The current software has very limited moderating controls.
* The current software has very limited administrative controls.
What you see in the sample link above is not exactly how it would look if we started using it. It would be fit neatly into the current format with the same menubar on the top, etc.
I'm sure I can also tweak the look & feel a little bit if I have to.
My biggest concern is if I switch, I do not want to lose historical messages. I need to be sure I can convert them over to the new software.
Stay tuned for more info, and keep the reviews coming!

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Not sure if my test post was taken or not. Page wouldn't display after hitting Post Reply button. But, anyway as long as I can see cool rides and post questions to the same group what difference does it make how the layout is. At least this way maybe we can keep photo sizes down so you can't download a giant photo that makes you scroll around just to read the posted message.
Oh yeah, and I agree with the new smiley faces sentiment, too.

But...don't get rid of my "smokin" smiley!!!!

The reasons you gave ... ARE good enough for me to just tell you to make the change... (like you needed my blessing...)
Seriously anything that makes.. your job.. and the job of the moderators.. easier, faster, or both is a no brainer...
Heck I keep seeing your requests for moderators and honestly even though I am retired I do not have the time
to devote to being one... anything you, or the Registry can do for those guys (the moderators) is reason enough for the change...
Go for it

I am a new member but an old programmer so I appreciate what you are attempting to do - most end-users complain about change but the benefits will be appreciated soon. The current format includes a colorful blue bar on the left side of the page that wastes a lot of valuable space and the new format eliminates the Right-Left scroll bar which is a pain to deal with.
I am very impressed with the work you have done to code/create this forum and I am sure no one will appreciate the new version more than you - improved controls will make your job somewhat easier.

I was wondering about the status of the new software the other day. I went back over and checked it out again. I like the way it looks too.
