I just added the Email button to the bottom of each post. So you can now choose to email the author right from the post. It looks like this:
It will take you to a form to fill out that will send an email to the user. This way, if the user has chosen to keep their address private, it will stay private.
Also, if you want to have people email you, you can tell them to use the Email button instead of posting your email address in the thread.
