Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
I'm considering implementing a system that would allow C3VR members to turn off advertising throughout C3VR while they are logged in and using the site.
What would give someone the right to do that would be through submitting a membership fee.
Is this something any of you would be interested in? How much would you be willing to pay per month, quarter, semi-annually or annually?
Some possible fees (not yet set in stone) would be:
$5 per month, $10 per quarter, $15 semi-annually or $20 annually;
or perhaps $10/m, $20/q, $30/sa, $40/a.
Obviously paying the annual fee would be most cost effective for the member.
Also, I could offer more storage space in your Personal File Folder and perhaps create an area for paid members to have their own webpage space.
And of course, as I come up with more features and events, paying members would have even more benefits than just turning off ads.
Let me know what you guys/gals think.
Thanks!

I personally do not mind the advertisements. In addition I understand that a site like this requires a lot of your time and financial support ! Keep up the good work and is there any truth to the rumor that you never sleep ??????

In my opinion Adam, you've done an excellant job in making the ads available for the eyes to see, but not get in the way (well, not too much anyway). Advertising pays the frieght, no arguement there. Sometimes it is a pain in the butt to look at, other times it isn't. And I'm sure it must take a fair chunk of your time just to manage the advertising on a regular basis. Time that I'm sure could be put to other use (like an occasional NAP for yourself!).
The ISP I use at home has different subscription levels - the more you pay, the less advertising you see. That way the individual has some choice in the matter. You might want to consider something like that.

The ads don't really bother me too much. Every now and then an ad gets my attention!

The adds are not really a problem to myself either, but I wouldn't object to a yearly fee either, so let us know whats happening Adam, great job!!!!!!!

To be honest, I was very surprised when you sent my initial sign up fee back.
You have to spend every waking hour working on the site. I don't mind ads if
they stay pretty much out of the way. I also would not mind some type of annual membership fee. If ya own a Vette, you can surely pay $20.00 or $25.00 for a membership fee. That is less than my club charges.

My vote goes for whatever keeps the "boat" floating!
Adam, I think your doing an excellent job just to maintain this site. The ads are not in my way and the way I look at it...is you offer ALL of US an opportunity to promote our respective Clubs & their events and for the time being at no charge, plus so many other things as well..like personal file folders etc. If it comes down to financially helping keep the site up..so be it. If you get to the point for a membership fee of some denomination, and thats what it takes to continue to build and grow the site, then GO with it. Save the Wave!
