I'd like to have a dollar for every time somebody jumped on my E-Bay bid the last 5 seconds of the auction ,lost some good stuff that way Cry
Okay heres a little lesson on ebay bidding, first off don't hate me for this but bidding in the last couple of seconds is called "Snipping" and is perfectly legal on ebay, I know this because I'm an expert Snipper

If theres something you really really want on ebay you must bid in the last couple of seconds or someone else who really really wants it also is going to snipe you.

Ebay will not except bids within the last 5 seconds, I've lost a few items because I waited until between 5 to 3 seconds to bid Cry  Bid somewhere between 10 to 7 seconds before the end time, this does not give the other person enough time to react and if they do it will be under 5 seconds.

If the item is something that you are willing to almost pay any amount for, bid high, and I mean really high.  If I've gotta have the item and the current bid is like $50, I'll bid like $251.56 (some ungodly high random amount) Don't bid even amounts like $60, $70, $100, $250, thats what the other guy is going to bid and you may beat him by like a $1.56 Big%20smile

Stay with me now phew

Okay, so you really didn't want to pay over $250 for an item going for $50. Well that okay also, if the item is at $50 and you bid $251.56 your bid will only go up enough to beat the highest bidders bid. So if the person with the $50 high bid actually bid $55.50 (you can't see how much they actually bid) you will beat his bid with $56.50 and if he bids again, say $60, then ebay will automatically raise your bid to beat his bid and so on and so on everytime he bids.  But if you bid in the last ten seconds theres not enough time for him to bid maybe more then once Wink

Another thing, if you plan on snipping an item, don't keep bidding on it over the 5 day auction or whatever length the auction is, all your doing is jacking up the price. All this may not seem fair to some but if you really want something on ebay now a days, its the only way to win the item.

And thanks Adam, you've found the only way to keep me from being able to snip this 100th Membership Auction. If an auction closes while I'm at work, I have no way of accessing internet Cry

Have fun with all this info guys LOL And good luck to all the high bidders Thumbs%20Up

Hey, Adam...do you have a policy against selling to anyone with under 50 feedbacks?

I'm just messin wid ya'll bidders!!!

Thanx for da tips there, Mark...I guess "Snipper" is a much better term for what I do than what some folks have called me... That's how I always bid.

Hey Mark! Did you have to give away all our 'winning E-Bay auctions' secrets? LOL I use a stopwatch myself and wait until somewhere around 10 seconds to bid. I agree,  bidding early only drives up the price at the end. Just sneak up and stab 'em in the back!Wink

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...

You can also put your laptop beside your desktop computer (if you are lucky enough to have one provided by work) and do the same as switching windows but that way, you don't take a chance on switching the wrong way.HAHAHAHAHAHARolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

I knew there were more snipers out there than anyone cared to admit.  It pi$$ed me off the first time it happened to me, but I just took my grandpa's advice and didn't get mad, leared the system and got one up on those guys.

Congrats to whoever wins this horserace.  It's too rich for my blood but it is for a good cause and the old clock on the computer tells me I have to pony up in about 14 days for a life membership myself.
