[QUOTE=dwright]Anyone who voted for Dallas and wants to change their mind, send Adam an e-mail.
If we end up in Hot Springs, we can go visit Ben and help him finish his project. I'll bring a couple of rattle cans of RED.

Dave, I voted Dallas just because of visiting family there but it really does not matter to me where as much as when.
I am as game for Hot Springs as anywhere.

So after the Gathering, you can go to Dallas and visit the family. Kool.
Is there a time in early May that you wouldn't be able to make it?
I have a lot of family birthdays the first week in May, so I would prefer the second week in May, but that is Mother's Day Sunday.
I'm thinking the third weekend in May.
Anyone have a conflict?

Probably May in itself. I asked and she said "we'll see"
She has some kind of Corporate tax returns she has to get in before May 31 and its always a bear around here that month. If we have enough advance notice though, she might can work around it. I remember when life was so much more simple.

I have yet to vote for a city. Dallas seems to sound like traffic and people and i really don't care for either.... Don't know much about the other two sites. Is this Kansas City Kansas or Missouri? When you all are talking about mild weather and comfortable what do you mean? Coming from here where the only time your skin turn a darker color is from the rain pelting down so hard and fast that is makes your skin dark, will it be CONVERTIBLE weather?
Thank you I will now go and finish the ark.

It really does not matter if it is Kansas City, MO or in Kansas City, Kansas. The two cities are right next to each other and are only separated by the river in some areas and State Lline road in others. You cannot tell when you leave one and enter the other without the signs

May in Hot Springs normally has very nice weather, not too much rain (typically) and and warmed enough to to drop the top with no problems.
Since it is a smaller town (38,000 population) you will not run into the typical problems of a big city, traffic and crime. Hot Springs is a tourist town so you get all the best of a large city such as restaurants and activities and then you can be cruising on a scenic route in 10 minutes or less.
If you like to drive on scenic curves, then some of the best driving is here! Hot Springs also has the only National Park within a city's limits with two seperate mountain views in the downtown area! If you have never been here it's a great place to visit and live!
We are close to everything, 4 1/2 hours to Dallas and Memphis, only 50 minutes to Little Rock (if you want to see their sites) and only 30 minutes off the Interstate! Hot Springs is the place to be!

As mentioned, if you really would like to change your vote, email or PM me and I can do it.
It is really close race right now, especially between HS and Dallas. just a few new votes could put HS in the lead.
As I'm reading people's comments, they seems to be building a pretty good case for Hot Springs.

Adam,
If Hot Springs is choosen I would like to help cooridinate the activites since I live here! I can't commit Ben, but I am sure that he would want help too.
I have thought about scenic cruises that we could take, such as scenic Hiway 7 North go to Mt. Magazine eat lunch at the lodge ( a real site to see) and return a diffferent scenic route. Also activities such as the Mid-America Musuem and the Belle of Hot Springs which is a Paddle Wheeled styled boat that offers dinner cruises and morning cruises on Lake Hamilton. Also places we could eat dinner together and possible host hotels with hopefully a group discount.
Also I/my company would like to sponsor a Show and Shine with trophies.
Hot Springs would be the best of all three places to have such an event!

I voted for Dallas mainly because it was closer coming from California, but ya'll are making "Hot Springs" sound inviting. I haven't heard anyone (Joel, Micki, and any one else from TX) promoting Dallas, such as activities, scenic drives, etc., and was wondering why? How much further is HS from Dallas, distance wise, if coming from out west? ....Also, is anyone from Cali., or west coast plan on gonig ? I guess my point is, I too was thinking of changing my vote to HS, just wanted to hear more on Dallas before I did...... Any input???
