Expedia Maps shows it to be a 2150 mile 32 hour trip. I might be a geezer, but I have never made that long a road trip. Might as well Git 'er done while I am still on the right side of the sod.....

Dave, I logged in 53 hours of driving time, but that includes detours in St. Louis, I slowed down 3 hours for a weather front stall in North Dakota then changed route by dropping south. Going home I took I 40 across country and did a great 22 hour drive in about 3 days..Spent time in Las Vegas, car overheated and I had to gamble to take my mine off the car..I used 5 miles over the speed limit and I got no tickets, some places you can go 90MPH..I was passed by a cop and I was doing 87MPH..You can do better than 32 hours..The trucks are real bad out there..

If it was one way I'm gonna quit bitchin' about 32 hours to Carson City. I have never driven out west and once we get past the cornfields I'm gonna take a bunch of side trips on the mountain roads for sight seeing. Never been around there outside of winter. This CTS-V sticks like glue and goes like stink, even has a "G" meter on the driver's display. I dusted a C5 by 3 or 4 car lengths from 70 - 130 MPH.....

I guess I won't mind this a much if are in a caravan. Otherwise I will be thinking to myself after day 1 "Are we there yet"?

Well.... let's plan a caravan starting in St. Louie, wherever the crap that is, and get into some neat stops and stayovers along the way....

O
If you guys come thru on I-44 to I-40W, we may be able to meet up with you along with some of the other OK Vettes.
Ifn' you'd want to detour off on some of the prime Route 66 pavement, you can run almost all the way across Oklahoma on 66 http://www.oklahomaroute66.com/. (Don't know how to get the link to work) They have a run in March or April every year that goes from one end of the state to the other. It is great fun!
If you time it right, you can stop at Cattlemen's Steakhouse, favorite of Actors, Presidents and no-accounts. It is in the middle of the State less than a mile off I-40 West.
Joel, you and Micki and all the rest of the Tejas bunch can probably get a one time visa to come up and join the party

We'll see if the Gov will allow it, probably depends on a certain Cotton Bowl score
.
