Well Here is my 2-cents. Since I'm in marketing I believe the C3VR should take charge to be the Premier Website site for Owners of C3's. There are a lot of other websites out there for Corvettes and they have a wide range of interest. Most of which don't fit into my interest.

That being said I think C3VR and its members should work closely with the Corvette Museum to create what is considered the largest C3 Event in the country and C3VR lead this charge.

Not to say that this years C3X is going to be bad, but I feel that there should be a much larger turn own considering C3's were the longest running body style with the most production numbers. This event should easily be 2000 cars. By C3VR leading this charge it will grow our group awareness, membership and ensure the life of our group of enthusiasts.

The only way we can do this is to put together a team of people to help market the event in conjunction with the Museum. Not saying the museum is the place to have it, thats for the members to decide. We need to get vendors and part suppliers to show up. We need to start promoting next years event now.

Summit Racing loves this sort of thing. And it's only 5.5 miles from my door. I can contact someone there. Let my know some thoughts before I do so.

I agree with the above, it should be the biggest C3 event in the world.
I'm not sure the middle of October is the best time of the year.
Wouldn't it be better in mid May when all us snow birds are itching to fly?

I concur.. this is a very good idea... I am probably not going to attend this year.. if there was a swap meet or I could pick up parts, I would be there in a heart beat.. I just cant afford to spend any extra money where im at in my project.. I could save enough money of shipping and on swap meet parts to justify the trip.

I think one of the major issues with larger events is that they are always in the northeast.

that makes it harder for people in the south and west to attend.

While the NCM is a good location for quite a few people.. for those in the west it really isnt..

perhaps alternating years... east/west

If I can help out in any way let me know....

if the larger event comes to fruition and you decide to have a judged car show.. please make sure to create c3 oriented classes instead of the cookie cutter ones everyone else uses..

nothing is more irritating than car shows with ignorant rules..

no points off for cd-case in daily driver..
no bonus points for spit shined engine compartment in daily driver

etc, etc, etc.

I agree there should be some big annual C3 event... but that is getting off topic of this thread.... I will put a national C3 event on the agenda for the meeting.

Please now move on to other ideas for topics to cover.

Thanks!

Vette(s): 1973 Stingray Coupe and C5 and C6 Coupes.
Just some thoughts (without giving each much thought about details):

How bout some historical stats... site hits, number of users in the various membership categories.

Lets talk about what C3VR does well, and what C3VR can do better.

What can we do to increase membership. How do we advertise C3VR.

C3VR events. Do we need more and how do we make it work with membership across the nation.
