I changed my mind about the Saturday Night Dinner plans.

I'm scraping the "meeting."  Mostly people want to have fun at this gathering.  Not waste 2 or 3 hours talking about C3VR.  Anything and everything that we'd talk about can just as easily be talked about on the forums.  And not only that, but if we discuss things on the forums, then we can get EVERYONE'S opinion...not just those that are in attendance.

The outdoor BBQ seemed to be a big hit last year.  This time, we're gonna do it at a restaurant.  Thanks to Rich Gilbert, President of the Lake Tahoe Corvette Club and Carson City resident, he suggested the Washoe Flats Steakhouse.  They have an outdoor event area with a BBQ.

Thanks to Karmel77 (Mel & his wife) who is chipping in toward the cost of our meal, cost will only be $18 per person.  THANKS MEL!

Arrival at 7pm for dinner start time of 7:30pm. Our official end time is 10:30pm.

Dinner is all you can eat from this spread:
Tossed Green Salad with house dressing
House made Ranch Style Beans
Grilled Hamburgers and Hotdogs with appropriate condiments
BBQ Chicken
slaw and/or potato or macaroni salad
Fresh baked Cookies
Coffee and Tea

BBQ Steaks will be available for an additional $6 per steak.

Cash Bar will be on site, too! kkfinch (Karen) has offered to cover much (if not all of the bar tab), so drinks will be on Karen until she runs out of cash! THANKS KAREN!

Prices above do not include tax or tip, so I will cover that.

The event area has great scenic views and should make for a fun, casual atmosphere.

If it rains, they will move us inside to a banquet room.  Lets hope that doesn't happen!  Of course, maybe stingrayjim will bring his 10x10 tent and we can all cram under there!!

They will have a special area just for us to park all our Vettes together!!

Prior to dinner, Rich and his wife have offered to lead us on a 17-mile, 30 minute scenic tour through old Washoe Valley to view some of the most expensive homes and horse ranches in Nevada.

This should be a great way to cap off our weekend!

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
wow Adam, Let me be the first one to say thanks for having the members meeting on the west coast, I know that it is a lot harder for you to move it around like this, so my hats off to you.  The whole week end sounds like a lot of fun, and social interaction with our extended cyber family.  I am so ready for this, to meet you, thank you, and to meet everyone else.  The BBQ sounds like fun. Let me know if the price would be cheaper if we brought our own meat, or if they allow us to ship to them some salmon for the BBQ, let me know if there is anything I can do, besides clean up, LOL.  Thanks again

That's a great idea Adam and should be lots of fun, but, being under a tent in a down pour in Tennessee with 30-35 C3VR's was and is a great memory that I will not forget right away..A high light of many for that Gathering..You put on a great time then and I know the same effort for this Gathering, you do put on a good party sir, with all your hard work. I for one will drive many miles to attend one of your Gatherings..Thank you Adam..Thumbs%20UpClap....And I think you should have larry do some clean up..LOL

Sounds like a great plan.

The one thing that the general meeting did was gave everyone a chance to hear directly, in person, from members who had ideas for the site.
An opportunity to put a voice and a face with the written word.

There will be ample opportunity to do that at each of the social events.

Let's have fun.Clap

Ummm, Adam, I believe I committed myself to buying some booze for the group if we did a BBQ (remember the "Wednesday Evening Dinner" discussion?)  Ermm  So, what's the best way to handle it (buy a keg, contribution of cash)???

Well, this isn't as informal as the parking lot BBQ of 2006, but just give me an idea of how much $$$ you want to contribute to the bar tab and I'll arrange with the manager to give out free booz until your $$$ is gone, then it will be a cash bar after that.

You can either reply here or shoot me a PM.

Thanks from me and anyone else that will be using the bar!!!
