I am really interested in participating but not sure I'll be able...I have already committed to something mid September next year. Bummer, looks like a great gathering!

This was found on facebook in a group talking about cruising Route 66 - A list of reasons people might come up with to not do it.

❌ “I don’t have air conditioning.”
✅ Perfect! That’s the authentic Route 66 experience.

❌ “My wife won’t let me.”
✅ Route 66 was built on bad decisions and good stories.

❌ “My kids have sports.”
✅ Tell them you’re taking them to watch professional-level steering wheel handling.

❌ “My car gets terrible gas mileage.”
✅ That’s not bad mileage. That’s your car converting gasoline into smiles.

❌ “The cruise is too long.”
✅ That’s literally the point. Nobody has ever said, “Man, I wish that road trip had been shorter.”

❌ “I’ll get home too late.”
✅ You’ll survive. Besides, some of the best Route 66 stories start with, “We got home way later than planned…”

❌ \"I have to work.”
✅ Work will always be there. Route 66 memories won’t. You know you have PTO that you don't use all of anyways.

❌ “It’s too hot.”
✅ Your grandparents crossed Oklahoma with no A/C, no cupholders, and questionable brakes.

❌ “I’m broke.”
✅ You own a classic car. Being broke is already part of the hobby.

❌ “I’m on a strict diet.”
✅ Route 66 calories don’t count. That’s science… probably.

❌ “My vehicle is only for show.”
✅ Then we’re going to have to explain to your car why it came with an engine.

And for the classics…
❌ “My car isn’t finished.”
✅ Neither is Route 66, but people still drive it.

❌ “What if it breaks down?”
✅ Congratulations, you’ve unlocked the full classic car ownership experience.

❌ “I’m too old.”
✅ Route 66 is 100 years old. You’re still younger than the road.

❌ “I don’t know anyone going.”
✅ You will about 15 minutes after you arrive.

❌ “I’ll have to think about it.”
✅ It’s a Route 66 cruise, not a mortgage application.

❌ “Maybe next year.”
✅ That’s exactly what your project car has been saying for the last 10 years.
