Group Hotel for 2007

Hi gang.

I would like a volunteer to find us a great group rate on a hotel for our 2007 gathering.

I started to check around, and it seems like there are only "Resorts" in the north Tahoe area.  Those are all nice, but pricey.  There are many hotels to choose from in the Carson City area, and even more in Reno.

Maybe I need three volunteers.  1 for North Shore Tahoe, NV, 1 for Carson City, NV, and one for Reno, NV.

You would need to get a list of hotels/resorts in your area, call them and ask for a group rate for 40 rooms.  Also, if they have meeting facilities, the cost for a "theater style" meeting room for 75 people with coffee service for 4 hours on a Friday or Saturday morning (8am to Noon). Would need to know if there is a difference in price by doing it on Friday morning vs. Saturday morning.

I'd like to have numbers by mid-October.

Please help! I can't do this all by myself this year!

I will definitely be bringing my tent and sleeping bag. Plenty of state parks between Reno, Carson City and Lake Tahoe.

CAC's Cruisefest is the 27,28 and 29 of June in Colorado Springs.

Be sure to check room rates over the duration of the stay.  One place I checked just for grins started at $71 for Wed/Thu then upped to $91 for Fri and topped at $129 for Sat.
