I was a little disappointed with the turnout of vette's upon arrival Saturday. I had expected many more cars. It may have been the thought of bad weather but our 4+ hour drive was great. I believe it was more due to the fact there were not enough freebies. (Sadly people love this stuff) Analyze what Mike Yager does with Mid America. This probally drew 9,00 vettes this year. Partly due to free shirts, eats, tech seminars & entertainment. These factors also have boasted his sales dramatically each year. Please don't take this as anything but constrictive critism for that is what it is intended to be. Even the folks from C3VR were hard to spot,(a booth would have been nice) Those folks who were showing their cars were friendly an enjoyable to speak with. We also enjoyed seeing the musuem again since it had been several years. Adam keep up the good work! More money and some good sponsership will eventually payoff! If you do this again we will return because our group are vette nuts and we look for local (In,Oh,Ky,Il, to attend. It was agreat trip we just sorry more people didn't take advantage of your hard efforts!

If you think that Mid America drew 9,000 cars to it's first event, think again.
We had the pleasure of having Wendell Strode sit at our table for the BBQ. I asked him if this was a good turnout for a first time event and he said that it was. In fact, he said that more people atended this event then the first C4/ZR1 event!
If you do shows for the freebies, then keep going to VetteFest. If you want commeraderie, then come to NCM... Sometimes, these events are really about the PEOPLE, not the stuff...

Red71Shark,
I could'nt have said it any better myself.
Like Wendell said, it's more of being like a big family reunion. Not a big swap meet.

On a related note... for those that were able to attend, it was nice to see everyone there.

Thanks R.W. I wasn't bashing the event nor did we go for freebies. we went beause we are vette people and like to be with vette people. Much like we like to go camping and like to be with camping people. My only intent was to see this event grow larger and to see more people take advantage of a good thing. There was never any intent for anyone to think differently.

As for seeing the C3X grow next year, I know an easy way to double the numbers.
Everyone who came this year promises to come next year and also promises to bring at least one C3 friend. It could be a local club member, a neighbor, a co-worker, someone you know from cruise-ins, a relative, etc.
Everyone there knows at least one other person who would enjoy the event as much as we did.
Just tell everyone you know to check out this forum and they will start planning for next Oct. now.

Can't believe you didn't see all the freebies at the show.We found so many we didn't know what to do with all of them!!PEOPLE, PEOPLE AND MORE PEOPLE.They were everywhere. Helpful ones. Kind ones. Funny ones. sweet ones. And I think lasting friends I cannot wait to see again. Stuff is just that, stuff. Friends are the best freebies a person can have.We had a great time! So sorry you missed all the best freebies there.
