Okay, I guess I'll have to uncover the ol' black dog and see if I can wake it up. I am going to pressure my boss for a commitment time so that I can make some preparations to meet up with y'all.
I was asked to go to Detroit for a week during the gathering time. I offered up a much younger fella in my place. (Hooray for youth! )
Lookin forward to meetin y'all in the near future. By the way if ya drive real fast them rattles aren't nearly as loud!

That's Great!!  Now you can use the young fella to do all your work when we all gather now.

Okay plans are laid down now. Leaving at 4:00pm on Thursday the 22. That will put us at the I275 / I75 split around 5:00pm. Is thereanyone out there that will be in this area around that timeframe? If so I can lay over at the KY welcome center as suggested.
I will post my cell phone number the day we get ready to leave in the advent someone thinks they will be around during that time and want to hook up.

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe

Larry (Tuxblacray) - are you planning to drive straight though to PF on Thursday night?  If so any idea of ETA in PF?  Or are you going to lay over somewhere?

Jim (78SEvette)/Mike (Great Pumpkin) - where are you guys meeting Thursday morning and what time do you plan to be on the road?  I saw 6:00 AM mentioned - is that to meet or depart?

Mark (vettedreams79) - when will you be leaving your place?  Will you be able to hook up with Jim & Mike Thursday morning?

Dennis (indy99) - when will you be leaving your place?  Will you be able to hook up with Jim & Mike Thursday morning?

Scott (smuniga) - when will you be leaving your place?  Looks like you have the option of going towards Cincinnati and hooking up with Jim & Mike on Thursday or going east and hooking up with Hank (hank51)?

Ken (RUCRUZIN) - from what I can tell by sifting through the thread you'll be on your own Thurday and Friday.

John (chesh)- when will you be leaving your place?  Looks like you live very close to the Kentucky information center on I-75 that Jim (stingrayjim) mentioned.

Hank (hank51) - except for Scott I don't know of anyone else for sure on the eastern side of Ohio.  If you two can't work something out check in with Darryl (Sarge81) or Dave (dwright) on the Upstate NY, Western PA, East group.

Did I miss anyone?

Jim and others,

It kills me to say that I have had to cancel out of the trip.  My car is just not ready after all the Winter projects and I have so little time right now, I'm not sure when it will be ready.  Here's a short list of the ailments ;-)

1) I am having a hell of a time getting the guy who helped rebuild the front suspension to do the front end alignment.

2) The new holley fuel pump must be putting out too much pressure for the new edelbrock carb. I believe I'll need a pressure regulator to stop the sputtering and flooding

3) I haven't yet gotten the vacuum system all hooked back up so that my headlights pop up.

I am really bummed to miss out, especially with it being only 5 hours away, but hopefully I can make next year.

John - just because your 'Shark' won't be ready doesn't mean you have to miss the gathering.  There are other vehicles being driven by some folks.  Or as an alternative there are some folks going by your front door you could probably hook a ride with.

John,
I didn't read anything there that can't be taken to another place and Get R' done. Ya got a couple weeks yet. I'll slow down on I75 and wait on ya. (I Promise!)

Jim,

We were gonna drive straight through, but could always be persuaded to stop if there is a group that we meet up with that wants too.
It is a 5.5 hour drive covering 350 miles. Driving straight through would put us there shortly after dark. (It gets dark in Indiana now at 10:00 pm since we changed to daylight savings time.
If I remember right Tennessee is 1 hour behind Indiana time currently so it would be 9:00pm there.

John,
It is more important that you are there than your Vette.
Come to the gathering even if your ride isn't ready.
I have an empty seat if you want to ride with me.

Dave, I appreciate the offer, but I just don't have it in me to go down there without the Vette.  My big goal was to be ready for the C3VR weekend and when I missed that, it just kinda deflated me.

However, I WILL have all the issues worked out by August in time for Ken Styer's get together in Cuyahoga Falls, so I hope to see you guys there.

Hope you guys have a blast in Pigeon Forge!

Norsky

Mike (Great Pumpkin) an I are meeting at a local "wet your whistle" at 6 AM and plan to be heading south about 6:15 or 6:30 at the latest. We will be traveling 75 south to Knoxville and then east to PF. Most of the construction on 23 from I96  south to Milan, takes place at night 4 lanes during the day. Anyone going to be in Toledo the night of the 21st can contact me for dinner or coffee or whatever and we can meet. Need information about the area and I can provide what you need. Construction on 23 N and S from state line to Central Ave exit has been very slow going lately - traffic moves steady but very slow. Need information, E-mail me at DJ78Vette@sbcglobal.net and I'll pass along the information you require.  Gd and safe driving.

Jim
